My Love Lost

My Love Lost
It was just a thought
But then it disappeared
Fleeting like a voice in the wind.

Almost I can remember
The smell of your breath when we’d kiss,
And the sound of your laugh. Almost.

It was just a thought
But now it’s gone.
Washed away, like a shell with the tide.

Almost I can remember
The beating of your heart
As I laid my head on your chest in bed. Almost.

It was just a thought
But now it’s lost.
Lost like youthful innocence.

It was just a thought
Now only a memory
Dusty, old, faded.

  1. Nice and kind of sad. But ultimate all experiences fade into memories.
